On Sunday, May 5th, we were pleased to host Nard Pugyao and his wife Sandy at our church. Nard was born and raised in northern Philippines where he received Jesus Christ as Savior through the efforts of a missionary. God opened the door for him to help deliver Bibles in the native language of the Isnag people and to work with translators over many, many years.

One of the points he made during the time he was speaking to us was how "tired" and literally "exhausted" his people, the Isnag people, were going through all the rituals and sacrifices they had to do to please their gods and find favor with them. When they were introduced to Jesus Christ and accepted Him as their Savior, all of that exhaustion and hopeless wranglings were relieved. God's grace, love, mercy, peace, and favor were received simply by placing their faith in Jesus Christ.

Perhaps today, you are still wrangling with your gods and you're tired and exhausted. Your gods may be another person, a spiritual entity, your job/career, your wealth or even yourself. The Bible tells us clearly that God wants us to not have any other gods but Him. Why? Not because he's egotistical or that He wants to control you. He wants you to know His unconditional love, his grace, mercy, and peace and the relief from exhaustion that only He can bring to your life; and His favor. No other gods can offer that.

So, are you tired? Are you exhausted? Find rest in Jesus Christ. Find love through a relationship with Jesus. Receive God's Spirit and bask in the sunlight of His favor.
